The Flex-Neck Peritoneal Dialysis Catheter System for Children:

Choosing the right catheter for your patient is important.  And since every child is different, having CHOICES is also important to you. Medigroup’s Flex-Neck Peritoneal Dialysis Children Catheters  are the only PD catheter system designed specifically for all children: infant, pediatric, and adolescent.

Available in multiple sizes and styles and in cuff options appropriate to the child’s specific physique and catheter needs (acute and chronic). Children do not come in one size; nor should PD catheters. Their needs, physiques, and capabilities require different catheter styles and sizes. Flex-Neck Classic and ARC Children’s Catheters are available in 10 size and style options, plus 2 additional adult small options.

  • Faster exchange rates - 30-33% faster*: The Flex-Neck catheter offers the largest internal diameter of any peritoneal catheter on the market. (*in vitro tests of pediatric, adolescent, and adult catheters; actual results will vary.)
  • Superior anchoring in rectus muscle: With a rectus cuff width of 5.0 mm (infant and pediatric) and 7.0 mm (adult small), the cuff can be totally encapsulated within the rectus muscle for better anchoring.

Flex-Neck Catheters for Children are available in two styles: Classic Coiled and ARC Coiled.
  • Classic catheters are uniquely designed to allow a choice of the most appropriate exit-site for the patient, with their infinitely variable tunnel and exit-site capability.
  • ARC catheters are permanently bent into a preformed 30° (or 45° for infant catheters) arcuate angle, to provide a uniform caudally-directed exit-site.

Pediatric / Adolescent / Adult Small:

  • All Flex-Neck® Pediatric, Adolescent, and Adult Small Catheters have a larger inside diameter
    (3.5 mm) while keeping a similar outer diameter (5.1 mm) as conventional PD catheters
  • Larger internal diameter means the exchange rates are 30-33% faster (in vitro tests).

Infant:

  • Specially-sized catheter for the youngest of patients.
  • The small O.D. (only 3.7 mm) means less trauma for the patient, while the large I.D. (2.5 mm) enables fast flow rates similar to or faster than conventional adult catheters.
