Embedding Tool

The Embedding Tool is a simple, easy-to-use device which allows any silicone PD catheter to be implanted and easily embedded (buried) for retrieval and use at a later date. When using the Embedding Tool, scheduling the PD catheter implantation can be a careful, planned, and measured action undertaken before the need for dialysis is necessary or urgent. Its use prevents the often hurried, critical rush to schedule the implantation at the last minute, with short notice.

While the Embedding Tool must be used at the time of the initial PD catheter implantation, it enables the catheter to be implanted at the convenience of both the doctor and the patient, when the patient’s need is foreseen but not pressing.

Catheter Implantation Stylettes

Stylettes are specifically designed to fit the unique interior diameter of Flex-Neck Catheters. A Stylette stiffens and straightens the PD catheter during implantation so that it can be easily implanted into the peritoneal cavity.  It is a long, straight, stainless steel rod in the same length as the catheter, with a coordinating diameter, which is used to stiffen and straighten the catheter during implantation.  Sold individually; Non-Sterile; Reusable and resterilizable.

Catheter Repair Kit (For external use only.)

To repair a cracked or broken external portion of a Flex-Neck Catheter, or to extend the external part of the catheter. Fits all Flex-Neck Adult, Adolescent, Pediatric, and Infant Catheters, in Classic, ARC, and ExxTended styles.

Catheter Connectors (For external use only.)

External catheter connectors, in two high-quality materials, are available to replace the plastic connectors prepackaged with all Flex-Neck Catheters. All Medigroup catheter connectors provide a secure connection to standard transfer sets. Two-part Titanium Connectors are made of medical-grade titanium for superior performance.

Replacement plastic connectors and caps are available, as needed, and are made of high-quality plastic for excellent performance. The use of a titanium or a plastic connector is matter of practitioner preference.
