The Flex-Neck® catheters were designed with two major advantages that resolve two significant problems that have frustrated doctors. This catheter offers faster exchange rates because of its larger internal diameter. In vitro studies have shown 30-33% improvement in rate flows compared to standard PD catheters. In addition, because the catheter is made of a special silicone blend, the implanting doctor can select the absolute best exit site for each patient.

The catheter can be bent into an arcuate shape, and it will stay in that shape within the subcutaneous tissue. All this is at a cost less than permanently bent catheters, and only slightly more than conventional style catheters. (Based on U.S. hospital prices.)
